Welcome to the York Mountain Biking Association.
The YMBA is the York branch of the DMBA.
In 2010 in response to the work that the members of the DMBA were doing within York region, we created the York Branch.
YMBA History
In 2010 Erich Baumhard approached the York Region Forestry department to extend the good work of the DMBA to the historically popular riding destination of Ravenshoe. Since that time the DMBA has developed a fantastic relationship with the York Region Forestry department, and in the intervening years began exploring additional opportunities for mountain biking in other tracts of the York Regional Forest as well as additional riding destinations in York Region, such as Jefferson Forest. After considering all the activities underway in York, was decided that it was time to give the York Chapter it's own Identity. Thus the York Mountain Biking Association was created.
In 2015 we partnered with King City to present Sprockids in Centennial Park, and now in 2016 we are running the second iteration of this fantastic children's program.
The YMBA is a brand of the DMBA. Officially, the York Mountain Biking Association is a Registered Trade Name of the Durham Mountain Biking Association. You can think of it as “One club - Two names”.
